The CELPIP General test (Canadian English Language Proficiency Index Program) is the only fully Canadian English-language test designated by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) for permanent residency applications (Express Entry, Provincial Nominee Programs, Spousal Sponsorship) and for the Canadian citizenship grant. Administered by Paragon Testing Enterprises (a subsidiary of the University of British Columbia), CELPIP is recognized for its emphasis on everyday Canadian English usage — workplace, community, daily-life scenarios.

This 50-hour intensive course is designed for prospective immigrants, students transitioning to Canadian universities, internationally educated professionals seeking provincial licensure (nursing, engineering, teaching), and Canadian citizenship candidates needing CLB 4+ for the language requirement. Prerequisites: intermediate English (CLB 5 or B1 CEFR) and basic computer literacy (CELPIP is 100% computer-delivered).

At the end of this course, you will master the four modules of the CELPIP General test (Listening, Reading, Writing, Speaking), understand the 12-level Canadian Language Benchmarks (CLB) scoring system, practice all 6 Listening sections and 4 Reading parts, complete writing tasks under timed conditions (Task 1 Email 27 min, Task 2 Survey 26 min), and deliver the 8 Speaking tasks with confidence using established response frameworks.

CELPIP General comprises 4 modules administered in one sitting (3 hours total): Listening (~47-55 min, 38 questions, 6 parts), Reading (55-60 min, 38 questions, 4 parts), Writing (53 min, 2 tasks), Speaking (~20 min, 8 tasks). Each module is scored on a 12-point CLB scale. Express Entry requires CLB 7 (~CELPIP 7) for federal skilled workers; Canadian citizenship requires CLB 4. Statistics: Paragon reports ~50,000+ tests administered annually, with growing recognition over IELTS in the Canadian immigration market.

Duration: 50 hours over 6-8 weeks recommended (5 modules + 1 mock test + 1 final). Includes 5 in-depth English-language lessons, integrated practice tasks, mock exam (25 questions), and final exam (50 questions) reproducing the CELPIP format.
