This comprehensive 100-hour course prepares International Medical Graduates (IMGs) and U.S. medical students for the **United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE)**, the mandatory three-step pathway to medical licensure in the United States, administered by the **National Board of Medical Examiners (NBME)** and the **Federation of State Medical Boards (FSMB)**. This course is also valuable for Canadian IMGs seeking dual US/Canada licensure or matching into US residency programs via the **National Resident Matching Program (NRMP)**.
This course covers **USMLE Step 1** (now Pass/Fail since January 2022) and **USMLE Step 2 CK** (Clinical Knowledge, 9-hour CBT, 318 multiple-choice questions), with dedicated modules on basic sciences, clinical medicine, and test strategy. Learners will also understand the **ECFMG certification** process, mandatory for all IMGs before applying to US residency, and optimize their **match strategy** using NRMP data.
At the end of this program, learners will master the Step 1 high-yield basic sciences (biochemistry, microbiology, immunology, pharmacology, pathology, anatomy, physiology, behavioral sciences, biostatistics) and the Step 2 CK clinical disciplines (Internal Medicine, Surgery, Pediatrics, OB-GYN, Psychiatry, Family Medicine, Preventive Medicine). A curated study toolkit — **First Aid, UWorld, Pathoma, Sketchy, Anki (AnKing deck)** — is integrated throughout.
The USMLE Step 2 CK is scored on a 1-300 scale; the current passing score is **214**. The average score for matched IMGs in competitive specialties is 245+. Step 3 (not covered in this course) is taken after residency match and covers advanced clinical reasoning.
